The Final 8

The Fiba world basketball championship is slowly reaching its climax. The final 8 is just around the corner, 8 of the best in the world.. 8 nations one goal.

Well I just wanna share my thoughts and predictions on the forth coming wbc quarterfinals.

August 29

Argentina (3) vs Turkey (18)

The unpredictable turks vs the olympic gold medallists. What a way to open the quaterfinals.

It has been a hell of a season for this young turkey squad. But for them to beat argentina is one hell of a mountain to climb. after 6 games argentina proved that they are still the team to beat in this tourney. Upsets are welcome but the chances of the turks pulling an upset against this experienced argentinian team is like carmelo anthony not asking for a foul on a contested shot attemp.

Spain (5) vs Lithuania (4)

I can see the spaniards pulling away early on this one. They dont want to end up shooting freethrows against this lithuanian team.

August 30

Greece (8) vs France (10)

Man I think this the most boring match in the quarterfinals. Good lord.. two of the best defensive teams in the world. but i think the french loss against the lebanese squad is one of the most humilitating loss in the history of basketball. and that loss sort of convinced me that this is the last game this frenchies will play this year.

Usa (1) vs Germany (13)

Ive got to admit this is not the same us team that finished 6th or 7th place in indianapolis a few years back. Im not a big us fan but damn are they playing or what? Sorry Halo but i think team usa is too determined, too deep and too talented for this german squad.
