One last game.. One more memory.

About three weeks ago, I've recieved one bad news. Im diagnosed with hernia, and most likely im going to have to rest, take a break from basketball for about a month. Yeah a month. And You know what's so damn bad about it? The semis and possibly the championship is right around the corner.

So that's it. My last game was against a team who wasnt supposed to be in the juniors division. A team we demolished by 57 freaking points. But I aint going to let that happen, I want my Highschool exit to be memorable. And to play my last game against a team like that.. well that's not my idea of a good exit.

Here comes the semis, And Im sitting on the bench wearing a polo shirt and maong pants while watching my teammates beat the crap out of our opponents. Although we won by a convincing manner (105-93), The game showcased our weakness, And what could be our downfall in the championship. Our rotation.

With Me on the rotation, Coach was rotating on 8-9 players, and for a highschool team, That's pretty low knowing our system relies on running and gunning. Now with me out of the lineup, That's one man out of the 8.5 player rotation. That's sad. so that makes it a 7.5 man rotation. Plus subtract the clutch plays, The H-Bomb Intensity and the leadership so, that's a.. uh a big loss. (Really now? :P)

The night before a championship, Coach asked me if Im ready to play. I said no. I havent trained for about three weeks and I dont know if i can play well with my lower ab and balls bothering me. But my teammates insisted. They told me that my presence alone in the court would make a difference. (daw, hehe ala eric menk). Coach told me that I dont have to play, I just have to bring my uniform. But when worse comes to worst. He said that he has no more options but to use me.

Now the Championship game. Im excited. I havent worn a basketball jersey for weeks now and it feels so damn good to wear my uniform again. Im feeling good. It's like I havent been out for weeks.

As Expected, I started the game on the bench. I never expected to play, All i know is that coach wants me to be there to lift the morale of my teammates. But midway through the first quarter, Coach called me to play. With no hesitation, I stood up, Went to the committees' table and eventually played.

It feels good to hit your first shot, And I feel like I can hit every shot ill take all night. I cant believe I can run. I dont know where I was getting my wind from. All I know is that this is the last game I'll ever play in the Junior's division.

We eventually won the game, 85-76. It's the best feeling in the world to win the championship again. As for me, I played for about 25-30 minutes and the stats sheet says that I scored 8 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Not bad for an injured guy right?

Now, I can sleep well. Finally, The exit I wanted. Atleast, Before I left my school, I left them with one good memory. A Championship
